Data We Handle

When you use Chesscito, the following data is involved: your public wallet address (provided by your wallet at connection), on-chain interaction data such as scores, badges, and purchases (publicly visible on the Celo blockchain), and local app state including tutorial progress, shield count, and gameplay preferences.

Data We Do Not Collect

Chesscito does not collect passwords, seed phrases, government-issued identification, personal identifiable information (PII), or analytics and tracking cookies.

Local Storage

Tutorial state, gameplay preferences, streak shields, and UX settings are stored on your device for UX purposes. On-chain actions and related blockchain data are public by nature and may be transmitted through wallet and network infrastructure required to operate the app.

Third-Party Infrastructure

Chesscito uses Celo RPC providers for blockchain reads and writes, and WalletConnect for wallet connection. We do not use analytics vendors or ad networks.

Purpose of Data Use

Data is used solely to operate the game: validate moves, record scores, process purchases, and mint collectibles.

Data Retention

On-chain data is permanent by nature of blockchain. Local data stored on your device can be cleared by you at any time through your browser settings.

Coach Match History (Chesscito PRO)

Active PRO subscribers have their game analyses stored to provide personalized coaching across sessions. We retain match analyses for 365 days from creation, after which they are automatically deleted. Free tier users' analyses live only in our 30-day cache and are never persisted long-term.

Your control: You can delete all stored Coach history at any time via your wallet from the Coach history page, regardless of PRO status. Deletion is permanent and immediate.

What's stored: Wallet address (lowercase), game ID, timestamps, game metadata (difficulty, result, total move count), and the AI-generated coaching response (summary, identified mistakes, lessons, praise). We do NOT store your full move list. No personal identifiers beyond the wallet address.

Lost wallet access: Deletion requires control of the wallet that owns the analyses. If you lose access, contact support@chesscito.com for an out-of-band deletion request. We will require proof of original ownership.
